Medical Facility more than doubles in size

A sports physician group in Evans is celebrating its move from one office to another in the same building.

Last Thursday, Piedmont Physicians Sports Medicine Augusta celebrated the relocation of its offices within 465 North Belair Road.

“The move allows us to continue to grow and see more patients comfortably,” said Robert Gambrell, M.D., board-certified and fellowship-trained sports medicine specialist at Piedmont Physicians Sports Medicine Augusta.

Company leaders tell ABD Piedmont went from three to seven exam rooms, with an in-house x-ray set up. There is also a dedicated nurses’ station and more office space for the providers.

“This new space enhances our ability to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and expands access for athletes and active individuals across our community,” said Andrew Torrance, M.D., a sports medicine physician and former U.S. Army physician.

Both physicians served as team physicians for the Augusta Riverhawks hockey team and Augusta Boxing, amongst other professional sports organizations. They each have very different areas of specialization to treat any sports injury in the CSRA.

The practice is now located at 465 North Belair Road, Suite 3F, Evans, Georgia.

The phone number, 706-396-7500, remains the same. For more information, visit piedmont.org.
