New pediatric urgent care clinic open evenings and weekends

Imagine coming home from work after a long day and hearing your child complain his stomach hurts. A new urgent care clinic in Martinez designed specifically for kids is open on evenings and weekends, when most pediatrician’s offices are closed.

KidsStreet Urgent Care recently opened a new location at 3910 Washington Road near the Bobby Jones intersection. The clinic treats patients with a variety of medical conditions and minor injuries. It also provides vaccinations, lab testing, and pharmacy services.

KidsStreet is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. No appointment is required. The clinic accepts many insurance plans and Medicaid. According to its website, care costs much less than an emergency room visit.

Based in Alabama, KidsStreet now has six locations in Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and North Carolina. The Augusta location is also home to MainStreet Family Care, which provides a variety of services for adult patients, including primary care, occupational health, and vaccinations.

Many pediatric practices, such as Pediatric Partners of Augusta, offer after-hours and weekend treatment for urgent healthcare needs. The Children’s Hospital of Georgia also has a pediatric clinic in Grovetown.

Many urgent care clinics, such as MedNow, see patients of all ages, but there is a growing number throughout the United States that only treat children and teenagers.
