To celebrate its grand opening on Friday, Rockin’ Crab Seafood & Bar offered a 50 percent discount on all food and alcohol. So many people showed up that day, that the line extended into the parking lot, according to General Manager, Maranda Stokes.
The new restaurant is located in front of Kroger and next to Chicken Salad Chick at 2807 Washington Road in Augusta. Rockin’ Crab, which is a franchise, serves a variety of dishes, including crab, shrimp, fish, and chicken wings, as well as seafood boils.
“People have complimented the flavor and style of the restaurant,” Stokes said.
The restaurant features both a full bar and outdoor seating with air conditioning and heating.
“We’re a family restaurant first, but we welcome our bar clientele as well,” Stokes said.
She said, unlike other businesses, hiring employees wasn’t difficult at all.
“We had several people come in,” Stokes said. “Everybody wants to work at Rockin’ Crab.”
For her, the best part of opening the restaurant has been seeing the smiles on customers’ and employees’ faces.
The restaurant is open Sunday through Thursday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. For more information, call 706-855-5828.
