A husband and wife team with significant food service operations experience is close to opening the doors of an upscale Columbia County restaurant.
ABD stopped by The Commons at West Lake on Furys Ferry Road yesterday and learned that the floors and bar are installed, and the tables and chairs are in place.
The Steakhouse will be called Griffin’s, according to Jordan Trotter Commercial Real Estate. The company leased a large space (a roll-up garage seating area connected to the main part of the restaurant) between the Cucumber & Mint retail store and BenchMark Physical Therapy. The restaurant will be just down from Ironwood Tavern and across from Rooted Coffeehouse.
Jordan Trotter says it expects Griffin’s to open sometime in July.
“The alcohol license went before the Development and Planning Services Committee on June 9th and is scheduled to go before the Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, July 7th. It has not been approved yet, “ said Columbia County Public Relations Director Cassidy Harris.
ABD reached out to the owners of Griffin’s and did not hear back before the story was released this morning.
An online search indicates that one partner is the director of operations for a local restaurant chain and the other is listed as regional territory manager for a food service company.
