New Tex-Mex restaurant to celebrate grand opening on July 11

If you live or work on Washington Road near I-20, you’ll soon have another lunch option. A new Tex-Mex restaurant will open in that area in less than three weeks.

Surcheros Fresh Mex will open a new franchise next door to Orange Moon Delights at 2907 Washington Road, Suite 402 in the Washington Crossing shopping center on Monday, July 11. The restaurant serves a variety of menu options, including tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and bowls.

Madison Tuten, co-owner of the Augusta franchise, said this will be the company’s 23rd location.

“Surcheros continues to grow throughout Georgia, Florida, and the Southeast,” Tuten said. “We cannot wait to introduce the Augusta community to our fresh food.”

He said what sets Surcheros apart from its competitors is it offers more than 25 toppings, which include guacamole, pico de gallo, corn salsa, and vegetables.

“We also grill any veggies you request in any of our sauces,” Tuten said.

The grand opening celebration will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce at 10 a.m.

Surcheros will also offer free food and giveaways throughout the week. For example, on July 11, the first 100 paying customers will receive one free meal with a regular drink each month for a year. To be eligible, customers must be at least 16 years old and meet other requirements.

Founded in Douglas in 2007, Surcheros has locations throughout Georgia and northern Florida, including Milledgeville, Savannah, Statesboro, and Tallahassee.
