North Augusta office supply store location to close in August

A big-box office supply store in North Augusta is closing its doors and offering discounts of up to 30 percent on all items.

Office Depot, which is located in Martintown Plaza at 1117 Knox Ave. between Planet Fitness and Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology, will close around August 20 because the company didn’t renew the lease in time to keep it open, according to a store employee.

“It’s only this store that’s closing; there are other stores in Augusta and Evans,” he said.

The Augusta store is located at 3675 Walton Way Extension near Best Buy, while the Evans store is located in Mullins Crossing at 4221 Washington Road.

Founded in Fort Lauderdale in 1986, Office Depot, which is owned and operated by the ODP Corporation, has more than 1,000 locations throughout the U.S. Office Depot and OfficeMax merged in 2013.

The company sells a wide range of items, including paper, ink, pens, and binders, as well as desks, computers, and TVs. Stores also offer a variety of printing, photo, and design services.

The store is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, visit officedepot.com.
