Most any site that you go to these days requires you to have an account set up, which also requires you to have yet another password to remember. Good password management practices for your business will give you an added layer of protection against hackers looking for profiles they can hack. Today, I want to give you two things you can implement right now to be able to have better password management.
Complex Passwords
First, a word of advice I can give you is to have complex passwords. They need to be longer in characters and contain a similar prefix at the beginning for all your accounts and then have a specific word or phrase connected to the account you are creating. To add length to the password, you may want to add or be required to add numbers as well.
Password Managers
You will also want to work with your IT company to find appropriate software to track your passwords. There are many free password managers that you can use. Your IT company can determine the best one for your organization. One recommended manager is using the built-in manager from Apple and integrates with Safari. There is also a version for Windows as well.
When you combine these two strategies into your business processes, you will then be better protected. If you are looking for an IT company to advise you and to make sure that you are using the best software for your organization’s specific needs, give us a call at 803-279-1100 or email us at info@crosslinkconsulting.net.
