Two new Olive Gardens for the CSRA

This fall, a popular Italian restaurant chain is scheduled to open a new location in an Augusta shopping center.

If you love mouthwatering breadsticks and never-ending salad bowls, you are in for a treat.

According to Juli Means, Marketing Director for Jordan Trotter Commercial Real Estate, Olive Garden broke ground on a restaurant at 804 Cabela Drive, near Dave & Buster’s and Costco last week. The company estimates it will open in October.

There’s currently an Olive Garden located at 2736 Washington Road near the Augusta National.

“The Washington Road location will close, and they will reopen at the new location,” Means said.

The restaurant will be built in the last available parcel in the Village at Riverwatch, which also includes Topgolf, Guitar Center, and Your Pie.

Later this year, Aiken will be home to a new Olive Garden location.

Darden Restaurants, which operates the chain of Italian restaurants, just broke ground on the location at 2265 Whiskey Road in front of the Aiken Mall, according to Jonathan Aceves with Meybohm Commercial Properties. That address was the former home of Golden Corral, which closed in 2020 and has been demolished. The restaurant is expected to open this fall.

“The current economy made it a challenging project, but with some creativity and determination, we were able to get this one done,” he said.
