Aiken company spreads AHH little sunshine with promotional products

What started as a hobby 30 years ago for Jim Hanna, grew into a successful business. He used to play in slow-pitch softball leagues, more than 300 games a year, which led to unique sales opportunities.

“I started selling bats out of the back of my car and suddenly everyone wanted one,” he explained.

Those sales were a catalyst for the promotional product business that he started. Over time, it grew from bats to banners, signs, T-shirts, vehicle wraps, and everything in between. If you can put a logo on it AHH Sunshine can make it happen.

“There is a lot of competition in the CSRA, but we just try to outwork them and are committed to a user-friendly customer experience,” Hanna said.

AHH Sunshine must have done something right; they recently moved from the Mitchell Shopping Center on Whiskey Road to a new bigger facility at 2301 South Centennial Avenue. With 15 employees, business is booming, and they ship products all over the world.

What hasn’t changed is that they are a Christian-based family-owned business. Jim works alongside his wife, Anita.

“We are committed to serving God and serving people, which is why we provide fundraising opportunities to churches, schools, and other organizations,” Hanna said

Their business model makes it easy to host fundraisers. AHH Sunshine sets up a web store and handles the administrative responsibilities with a percentage of items sold going to the organization.

If it can be embroidered or printed, such as this saddle blanket, AHH Sunshine can do it.

Like most other businesses, covid hurt because all those opportunities to work with schools and churches went away but Hanna said, “We’ve been fortunate. In the past few months, we’ve set sales records.”

The new location may present a chance to expand the sign and screen-printing services.

“I enjoy what I do and introducing more equipment and creating more jobs could be on the horizon,” he said.

“Ahh” is used to express a range of emotions including surprise, pleasure, and realization. An AHHray of big IdeAHHs may lie AHHead for the Hanna’s and AHH Sunshine.
