“Do internships = dream jobs?”

This column marks the fourth and final installment in my series on internships. My first two columns on this topic discussed local internship programs at the high school and college levels, how they positively impacted the students and businesses who participated in them, and the workforce and economic development of the CSRA. In my last column, I told you the internship story of my older daughter, Audie, and showed you how internships laid the foundation for her early career success. The experience she gained and the network she built through

International grocery store chain to close CSRA location this weekend

Jennifer Sparling has been a loyal Lidl shopper ever since the grocery store location opened in North Augusta in Sept. 2017. Do you have a plan should one of these natural disasters hit your business? Real Talk Real Estate: Local tax assessment bills, millage rates, and unnerving updates

Last week, I watched a segment on the local news where they interviewed representatives from the Richmond County tax assessor’s office talking about the process used to decide values for property taxes. This process is similar to a property appraisal done by realtors or appraisers and is determined by local sales values. All counties generally follow the same process and then use their local millage rate formula to decide a tax assessment figure. Here is a quick example to show you how the millage rate process works. In Georgia, the
