Bank of America (BofA) has kicked off its latest series of virtual workshops, teaching everything from growing your career to financial wellness and critical thinking.
Tomorrow is the next one.
The goal of the broad spectrum of topics is to empower individuals, communities, and businesses with education, developing skills, and career advancement.
“At Bank of America, we believe in investing in people, and it’s just as important as investing in business,” Marissa Smith, SVP and Market Executive, explained for ABD. “So, we hold these community education workshops to build on that commitment. We’re offering them to help prepare individuals for a career, to foster economic mobility, to build skills, and inspire career confidence.”
Smith added that both businesses and nonprofit organizations have responded positively to previous workshops.
“I have heard how excited they are to have these types of resources available for free and all in one place. I know that our chambers are really excited about it,” she said. “Nonprofit leaders are going to be sharing this with not only the clients they serve but also their internal employees.”
She added that the workshops can be particularly advantageous for nonprofit organizations.
“Nonprofits are businesses. They have an employee base, and the topics that are on our community education website include career readiness skills, as well as financial wellness, and then skills-specific learning, like credit basics, teamwork, digital awareness, and technology essentials.”

Anyone interested may sign up for an individual workshop or all the workshops. In addition to the sessions having no cost to attend, the fact that they are virtual means there is no class size limit.
“We’ve actually been holding these workshops externally for the community for several years now,” said Smith. “Our Bank of America Academy is actually who hosts and runs these community education workshops. They are held live, and they give great advice on different career topics. We’re hosting them for anyone; you don’t have to be a Bank of America client or employee to attend.”
