Company dances its way into new shopping center

A dance studio is taking up three of the five open spots at a new shopping center getting ready to open this summer, according to its developer/agent, Billy Franke. It’s located on the new section of the Riverwatch Parkway in Evans and across from the new Junior Achievement Discovery Center near Columbia Industrial Boulevard. Franke says the yet-to-be-named dance studio will occupy the three middle bays for a total of 5,400 square feet. Crews are pumping out the work sunup to sundown to try and get Parker’s Kitchen open as soon as possible in 2024. Parker’s new neighbor directly across the street on William Few Parkway and Washington Road is The Pumping Station (TPS). The locally owned service station and convenience store have made significant changes in the last few months to prepare for Parker’s. Augusta’s traffic engineering division is ready to launch the traffic plan for Masters Week 2024. Assistant Director, John Ussery held a media briefing and outlined the plan. Simon Says: Bucking the trend

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that jobless rates were up in 218 of the 389 Metropolitan Statistical Areas in January. Augusta bucked the trend with the unemployment rate falling from 3.8% in December to 3.7% in January. Unfortunately, payroll jobs also fell, but by just 200.
