Former home of popular downtown eatery now available

In November, owners of The Bee’s Knees, a downtown eatery that specialized in tapas, decided to close its doors after many years in business. But its former home is now available for lease, according to the Finem Group with Meybohm Commercial Properties. The more than 3,200-square-foot space is located at 211 10th St., next door to Manny’s Sports Off Broad and across the street from Tacocat. National company acquires local restoration business

ATI Restoration, America’s largest family-operated restoration contractor, has announced the buyout of Venturi Restoration with an office in Augusta and in 16 other states. Both companies respond to emergencies including flooding, fires, and other disasters with property reconstruction and remediation for homes and businesses. New amendment caps cost of James Brown Arena construction

Cost overruns on major construction projects are common, but an amendment has been approved to ensure that doesn’t happen in building the new James Brown Arena. The project has an estimated price tag of $240 million and the amendment caps it at $250 million.
