The last event held at the Events on Broad location is their going-out-of-business sale. The combination restaurant/event space was open for years at 716 Broad Street, next to the Miller Theatre. The G.O.B. sale is tomorrow (Saturday) from 10-3 at their facility. They have decor, dinnerware, platters, candle holders, lamps, tables, and much more. Apparently, Best Buy is the best choice for electronics customers in Augusta. BrandsMart U.S.A., its across-the-street competitor, is selling off its display items and shutting its doors as soon as next week. It was confirmed by a store manager. The sporadic going out of business sale continues Friday for a 50-year-old company in Martinez. Furniture Rentals was open for their sale on Tuesday and will re-open on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at its Washington Road location. A Furniture Rentals employee would not allow photos of the showroom of used furniture and accessories, but did provide information. An Evans franchisee decided to close up shop after three years in business. April Barbin and Lindsay Gay posted on Facebook that they were closing their AR Workshop. According to their website, they are cousins by marriage and best friends.
