Bank of America is going to continue its mission and flow of money in 2022 to support economic mobility and broader community vitality in Augusta and Aiken. Food Bank hires local group to plan $5 million project

A local charitable organization has received a $3.7 million grant that will help to feed the hungry in the CSRA. Golden Harvest Food Bank is one of eight food banks throughout Georgia that has received a Department of Community Affairs Grant, which will be administered locally by the Augusta Economic Development Authority. The grant was funded by the CARES Act – a law that was passed in response to the pandemic. Another local company to help Kentucky tornado victims

David Byrd wants to provide prompt relief to those who need it the most. Byrd – President of Southern Beverage Packers Inc. in Appling, says the KAMO company will deliver at least 3,000 cases of Springtime bottled water to those affected by the tornadoes in Kentucky during the week of Dec. 27th. “It’s important for small businesses to help communities in need due to our quick reaction time to provide basic needs,” he states. Local credit union employees help community for the holiday season

Employees of SRP Federal Credit Union have been active in supporting local charities in various ways throughout the month of December. They filled 66 stockings for The Salvation Army’s Stuff a Stocking campaign and supported the charitable organization’s Angel Tree program by donating gifts for 39 children, while 16 employees volunteered as bell ringers for this year’s Red Kettle campaign. Credit union feeds local hospital workers

For the past 18 months, many local hospital employees have faced unimaginable stress dealing with the pandemic. SRP Federal Credit Union has helped by providing meals to more than 1,000 of these employees through its Random Acts of Kindness program.
