Phoenix Printing Group made the donation to Paceline – a local organization that donates all funds it raises to the Georgia Cancer Center at Augusta University. Phoenix is one of Paceline’s many corporate partners, which also include Georgia Power, Synovus Bank, and Bristol Myers Squibb. “They’re very much a part of our mission, which is to cure cancer faster,” says Martyn Jones, the organization’s president. “They’re critical in maintaining our support of our mission.” Each year, Paceline hosts a fundraising event called PaceDay, which includes a bicycle ride. Jones states the first ride was held in May 2019, and in 2020, it transitioned to a virtual event due to COVID-19. This year’s PaceDay was held on Saturday, Oct. 16. The event is a peer-to-peer fundraiser, which means participants gather donations from their friends and families. “The fundraising continues for six weeks” after the ride, he explains. “We’ve received donations from 42 states and five countries.”

As of Friday, Dec. 3 at about 5 p.m., Paceline had already raised $307,120 from individual donors and corporate partners. ABD will update our readers on this year’s total once the fundraiser ends. For more information, visit pacelineride.org.
