Engineering firm with local office joins professional services network

A Southeastern engineering firm has formed a partnership with a major professional services company.

Cranston Engineering Group, P.C., which has offices in Augusta, Charleston, and Hilton Head, provides many services, including civil and structural engineering and planning. Based in St. Louis, The HFW Companies invest in engineering firms like Cranston.

Scott Williams, left, President of Cranston Engineering, and Michael Hein, CEO of HFW, shake hands on their partnership.

“This partnership with HFW will give Cranston a new platform on which to strengthen our presence in the communities we serve across both Georgia and South Carolina while allowing us to forge ahead in growing the Cranston brand,” said company President, Scott Williams. “We’re excited to align ourselves with HFW and its network of AE brands.”

Williams said partnering with HFW will allow the company to add more locations, expand its services and hire more employees. Cranston currently has 75 employees.

HFW CEO, Michael Hein said while Cranston is joining a network of firms, the company strives to retain each firm’s unique brand identity.

“Cranston’s brand legacy has such great growth potential,” Hein said. “It aligns nicely with our own growth strategy of investing in engineering firms that serve metropolitan and infrastructure markets and are open to aligning with a partner for growth.”

The company’s Augusta office is located on Ellis Street in downtown Augusta. For more information about the companies, visit cranstonengineering.com and hfwcompanies.com.
