It is a time of New Year’s resolutions and, here at GroupRB, we are looking to reduce our digital footprint online. Effectively, we are saying NO to Big Tech and YES to personal privacy. We have tested the Brave Browser at Brave.com, and we love it! Why? Because it is just that good.
6 Reasons Why We Love the Brave Browser
1. Brave blocks trackers and “creeper ads” (those annoying shoe ads that follow you to every site or social network you visit). This means you get a faster page load and, if you are remote without a charger, better battery life.
Brave shows you how many ads/trackers are blocked (which takes up bandwidth), the bandwidth saved, as well as the time saved (see the image below).
2. The Brave browser has a built-in search engine (you can use your favorites if you want). But unlike Big Tech search engines, Brave Search never tracks your searches (or you), ever.
3. The Brave browser has a built-in video call app called Brave Talk that allows for private, FREE, unlimited calls, right in the browser.
4. Brave really shines with its Playlist feature! You can include audio and video from many different sources, like podcasts and YouTube, in your Playlist and easily access it both online and offline.
5. You can import just about everything from your current default browser. In just a couple of clicks, you can import your bookmarks, your browsing extensions, and even your saved passwords. Note this only works on iOS or above. Droid is coming soon!
6. And you get some really cool background images like one of the buffalos above. This changes regularly as you use the browser. This one above reminds me of the Yellowstone Series. Just sayin’.
