Free Access: How Will Web 3.0 Impact Digital Marketing?

Today, there are so many different opinions about what Web 3.0 means to each of us, as illustrated by the comic above (Source: https://www.cryptospace.it/6-nfts-metaverse-crypto-memes-jokes/).

This Web 3.0 personal paradigm shift is important because the same thing is happening for businesses. The digital landscape is changing fast and it will impact your business.

In the previous article, we discussed how Web 3.0 is a more interactive and personalized web that allows users to connect and share data more easily. This customization of the web experience will be crucial for your business in the coming years.

Companies like Tesla, Shopify, Spotify, and, of course, Meta, are all foraying into the Web 3.0 world to provide customized experiences for their users to prompt them, through artificial intelligence, with sales offers and to collect their data to enhance their next visit.

A Gartner study reports that 63 percent of digital marketing leaders still find it difficult to create a personalized experience for their users. (Source: Gartner Study)

As online marketing strategies continue to evolve, so too, customer data collection must change in order to comply with ever-changing privacy and security requirements.

Here are three takeaways on the impacts of digital marketing on your business:

1. You can leave Big Tech behind

In Web 3.0, your company will be in control of its own community. You won’t have to rely on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social media platforms to manage your community and its data. With this new web, your company will own the data (and, as a result, the customer), giving you more control over your community.

Also in this new environment, data will be stored on a decentralized network of computers, making it more secure and less vulnerable to hacks. Blockchain technology, which allows for a distributed database, secure transactions, and full transparency of these transactions will accomplish this.

2. You will use and understand artificial intelligence and machine learning

The Semantic Web extends the World Wide Web in a way that allows computers to interpret text and data more as a human user would. This results in the ability for machines to “learn” tasks that are traditionally done by humans, commonly referred to as artificial intelligence.

The two elements work together to enable natural language processing, which allows computers to interpret correctly the meaning of text input. This technology will allow you to improve your user experience through personalization.

In order to ensure that you are reaching and engaging customers through more customized experiences with your online presence, you will need to rethink your current digital marketing strategy.

3. It is your content, your way

It is important to be aware of the potential impact of Web 3.0 beyond the current trends of cryptocurrency trading and buying pixelated images for ridiculous sums of money.

If you want to create tailored experiences for your users, you’ll need more content. This means you will need more video content, more audio and social media posts, and so on. Creating engaging content with a sense of urgency and scarcity will help your company grow its community.

The true value for your company lies in being able to monetize your content, rather than the social media giants. This is your content, your data, and your chance to increase revenue.

So what does it all mean?

As the internet evolves, your business will need to modify your online marketing strategy to take advantage of Web 3.0 technology to provide more interactive and customized experiences for your online community.

Planning for how this could help your business grow and keep customers is essential to staying ahead of the competition.

Until next time, remember that you deserve marketing that actually works.

  1. Wow! Alice in Wonderland or what? You can almost sense the resistance to the new technology that some business owners will surely embrace, and be left behind as a result. Just like when Google bought ad listings from yellow pages assuring an end to the same pages, advertisers either adapted to digital ad words moving their businesses forward, or kept fighting for the AAA listing in an ad space going the way of the horse and buggy.
In my opinion only, if someone’s offering training(s) in Web 3.0 technology, take it, and get a jumpstart in this new form of interacting with your customers and your community.
