Free Access: Real Talk Real Estate: Neighborhoods within walking distance of restaurants

One of the golden rules in Real Estate is, “Location, location, location!” When my clients are searching for a home, my first question is always, “Where?” It could be for a particular school zone, close to their work, or just convenience to shopping and restaurants.

Today, I have a list of neighborhoods that are located within walking distance of restaurants. Nowadays, many people have golf carts that they can zip around on, but if you’re lacking a pimped-out buggy, don’t worry! You can still walk to these restaurants and, honestly, it may be more beneficial for you to do so.

Think about it: The appetite you would get on the walk up, the satisfaction of working for that meal, the calories you would shed on the way home. It sounds to me like a win-win-win situation!

Bartram Trail, Evans (Tavern on the Trail)

eoy CAMPAIGN HEADER

As reported in ABD back in July, Bartram Trail Golf Course has recently changed ownership. The new owner has opened the golf course’s restaurant to the public and even delivers within the neighborhood. You will enjoy more than just the normal golf course food. They have a full menu to choose from as well as a full bar and outdoor seating with a view!

Hammond’s Ferry, North Augusta (Manuel’s Cafe, Di Vino, The Larder)

One of the premier neighborhoods in the CSRA, Hammond’s Ferry is a beautiful community with restaurants to match its refinement. Seriously, it’s similar to something you see in the movies. There is a French bistro on the corner, a fancy Italian restaurant across from it, and a hearty restaurant/bar down the street. I hear that they are all delicious and source a lot of ingredients locally! Plus, Hammond’s Ferry is located right next to SRP Park, which has more restaurants to choose from.

The Larder in Hammond’s Ferry is one of several restaurants within walking distance of homes.
Riverwood Plantation, Evans (Ironwood Tavern, Mi Rancho, Rooted Coffeehouse)

If you have ever been to Riverwood, you know this is one of those neighborhoods with tons of golf carts. It makes sense to have the Riverwood Shopping center connected to the neighborhood. They have a good selection of restaurants to choose from. Ironwood, Mi Rancho, and Rooted make this list because I frequent them often. I know Rooted calls itself a coffee house, but it should be a cafe with all the food options they have. I can’t recommend enough the sweet ham sandwich on a pretzel bun. It is so good!!

Ivy Falls Plantation, Grovetown (Aztec Maya, Old Time Burgers, Whipped Creamery)

Ivy Falls is a very affordable neighborhood that has been undervalued for a little while. It has a great location with exits on Columbia Road and William Few Parkway. I don’t know about y’all, but I can eat Mexican food every night of the week! If I were to switch every day between that and burgers, I might as well add a milkshake from Whipped Creamery too, I think you’d have to pinch me because I’d either be dreaming or dead in heaven! Seriously, that would be too much, for my stomach and my wallet! However, they are solid choices and you don’t even have to leave the neighborhood!

Downtown Augusta (Nacho Mamas, Laziza Mediterranean Grill, Knuckle Sandwiches, and many more)

Surprise, surprise! Downtown has the highest concentration of good restaurants in all of the CSRA. There were many that I could not put on my list. These were just the first that I thought of, which could mean something! Knuckle Sandwiches is a hole-in-the-wall sandwich shop that has made the greatest impression on me. You can’t go wrong with any of the sandwiches, and don’t sleep on the wings!

Northwood, Evans (Roll On In, Stay. Social Tap and Table, Your Pie)

Northwood is a neighborhood that flies under the radar. Most people pass it without even noticing it. It is located right behind the Columbia County Library and has a nice sidewalk leading all the way to Lady A park, which means you have access to everything in the brick Meybohm building. Have you ever heard of a sushi burrito? Well, Roll On In has them! It also has an ice creamery attached that makes boozy shakes. If you’re not feeling like sushi, try the beer/wine wall at Stay, or head downstairs for personalized pizzas.

If you’re looking for a home, check out these neighborhoods first! Who knows, if these gas prices keep rising we may all be walking!
