Free Access: Tech Alert: You are attacked by a cyber enemy! What do you do?

You are under attack and it’s not because of a physical attack, but from a foreign cyber enemy. The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has increased cyber-attacks around the world. Russia, China, and North Korea have declared a cyber war with the United States. This declaration is nothing new, however, we have always been in a cyber war with those wishing us harm. You are not under attack because your information is so valuable, but you are under attack because you are the enemy of these countries. They are going to sell the data that they gather from you on the dark web and hold that data for ransom. You do not need to be a victim, there are certain steps that you can take to prevent these “hidden” attacks.

• Make sure to have good spam protection.
• Make sure to patch and update the software on your computers and devices regularly.
• Implement a great detection and response system for your network. Make sure you and your organization know exactly what to do in the event of a breach.
