Grant to help pave way for CSRA college success

Whether students are looking to enter the workforce upon graduation or transfer to a four-year college or university, Aiken Technical College offers 85 courses to pave the way.

A grant of $9,400 from Bank of America can help students achieve success by removing financial barriers to complete their college education.

“The grant will go toward the ATC Foundation’s Student Completion Microgrants Program. The microgrants are provided to eligible students who have completed at least 75 percent of their program of study, but are at risk of not completing for financial reasons,” said ATC Foundation Director, Beth LaClair, Ph.D.

“This program helps students cross the finish line as they may have financial barriers preventing them from finishing. The grant from Bank of America will aid students in completing their degree, diploma, or certificate, and ensuring that they can enter the workforce in the CSRA,” said Dr. LaClair.

Microgrant recipients are further supported by receiving free holistic student support services such as tutoring, student coaching, counseling, and career services.

“Partnering with Aiken Technical College Foundation to invest in the Student Completion Microgrants program, which helps prepare young adults for long-term success, is part of our approach to fostering economic mobility and equitable progress,” said Ora Parish, President, Bank of America Greater Augusta / Aiken.

“These investments demonstrate how we are taking action to provide our community the essential resources and support needed to help people succeed in today’s and tomorrow’s economy.”
