A local brewery has planned an event that will include food, beer, and even hot dog eating competitions.
On Saturday, May 20 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., Love Augusta and Savannah River Brewing Co. located at 813 Fifth St. in downtown Augusta will host the first-ever Wiener Fest. The free event will also feature music, axe throwing, and various types of hot dogs served by CSRA restaurants, such as Villa Europa, Manny’s Sports Off Broad, and SNO-CAP Drive-In.
During the event, donations will be accepted for Dog and Cat Networking Agents, a local non-profit organization. Savannah River Brewing Co.’s Marketing Manager, Taylor Reynolds said it will help to support that organization and promote other businesses.

“We’re all about giving back to the community, and Wiener Fest is just a fun way to show that in action,” Reynolds said.
The hot dog eating competitions will begin at 2 p.m. on the day of the event, and registration is required. The cost is $15, and the deadline to register is Monday, May 15. For more information or to register, visit loveaugusta.co/wiener-fest.
