There is a war going on—not only in Ukraine, but on our desktops— and in local doctor’s offices and hospitals the last few years, said Eric Toler, Executive Director of the Georgia Cyber Center—and 28-year military veteran.
His keynote speech last week at the Medical Professionals Magazine soiree highlighted the multi-million dollars in cost and lost time with cyber-attacks across the country in hospitals and medical practices. About 100 physicians, nurses, administrators, and staff listened and received a nice gift from Toler—a gift of gratitude.
“Thank you for your service the last few years you’ve had in “combat,” he said to those in the audience who have battled covid while upholding their medical oath.
Two of the main sponsors of the event—ABD partner— Cross Link Consulting—and Augusta Staffing spoke of the importance of medical practices in choosing local service providers.
“Our people will come to you with humility and never talk down to you” (about understanding the complexities of cyber protection), said Patrick Reynolds, CEO of Cross Link Consulting.
Later at the event, Robert Kelly who co-manages Augusta/Aiken Staffing and Job Shop with his twin brother, Isaac—handed out three awards to worth administrators.
Kelly presented CSRA Excellence in Healthcare Management Awards to:
- Danny Hobbs, Administrator of Evans Medical Group
- Jennifer Finley, Administrator of Augusta Surgical Group
- Lance Danko, Administrator of AU Health Imaging
