Sacred Heart seeks local artists for Iconic Augusta art show

Local artists will have an opportunity to showcase their talent and earn some money for their work at the Iconic Augusta art show at Sacred Heart Cultural Center, Jan. 6-20, 2023. Applications to take part in the show must be submitted by Dec. 9.

“This is an opportunity for newer artists to show their work,” said Millie Huff, Executive Director of Sacred Heart. “The show will depict local scenes, anything that represents Augusta and the CSRA.”

Artists may submit up to two items. The works must be two-dimensional and able to be hung on a wall. Artists must be 18 or older. The works must portray the heart of Augusta, such as buildings, landmarks, landscapes, and people, in various mediums.

The items will be available for purchase. A portion of each sale will go toward supporting Sacred Heart.

An art reception is planned on Jan. 5, 4-6 p.m., for the public to meet the artists and their families. The exhibition starts on Jan. 6, and is open to the public, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. through Jan. 20. A virtual tour will also be available on the Sacred Heart website.

The submission form and more information are available here. For more information, contact Sabrina Dickson at sabrina@sacredheartaugusta.org or 706-826-4700.
