The recent death of actress Betty White (see photo above story) has touched many worldwide, but a local business has found a way to honor her memory. South Aiken Physical Therapy and Wellness – located at 943 Pine Log Road next to Staples – began accepting pet food donations on Monday, Jan. 17 – White’s birthday. The actress, who would have celebrated her 100th birthday, was also a well-known animal lover. College is a major financial burden for many students, but a local credit union wants to help ease that burden for some CSRA college students. To celebrate its 60th anniversary, Peach State Federal Credit Union has pledged to donate $60,000 to Paine College over the next five years. The college plans to use the donation to fund student scholarships.
