JBA construction closer to reality

The intergovernmental agreement between the Augusta Commission and the Augusta-Richmond Coliseum Authority has been signed. Authority Chairman, Cedric Johnson confirmed for ABD he signed the document. It creates the pipeline to receive funds from the half-penny sales tax approved by voters in November 2023. “Approval by the Commission opens the doorway for us to get those funds,” he said. “Without that agreement, any SPLOST (Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax) goes straight to the city. Iconic retailer with an Augusta location announces store closings

Macy’s, which has an anchor store in the Augusta Mall, has announced massive store closings, including 50 by the end of this year and another 100 underperforming stores to close by the end of 2026. North Augusta growing again with major new home construction

Business is booming in North Augusta and now, a new neighborhood has opened that should ensure there will be families to patronize those establishments. The neighborhood, developed by Ivey Homes, will have approximately 170 dwellings. Single-family homes range from 1,490 to just over 2,900 square feet. They offer two to six bedrooms and two to four bathrooms. Prices range from $271,000 to $400,000. There will also be townhomes, offering two to three bedrooms. Sizes range from just under 1,200 up to 1,490 square feet and two and a half bathrooms.

Tourism icon to help military folks in the CSRA

Another hurdle cleared and one step closer to JBA reality

The second step required to collect funds for the new James Brown Arena construction has been completed. Augusta Commissioners Tuesday unanimously approved an intergovernmental agreement with the Augusta Richmond County Coliseum Authority.
