Grand Opening in CSRA

Thanks to ABD reader Sonya Roland from Heritage Academy for her story tip, as she attended a soft opening of a new restaurant and bar on the Southside. This weekend is the grand opening of Liddy’s Restaurant at 2601 Deans Bridge Road. As you enter, there is an “L” shaped bar and three narrow rows of seating. Paris Baguette is set to compete with any donut shop, coffee bar, cake shop, sandwich café, and supermarket bakery in the Augusta/Aiken area. Local Army Veteran opens second health café

Franchisee Antwaun Wade opened his second Smoothie King location at Eisenhower Crossing, 3970 Harper Franklin Blvd.  Eisenhower Crossing is located near a major intersection of Jimmie Dyess Parkway and Gordon Highway. It is anchored by Kroger and opened in 2024.  In April of 2024, Antwaun opened his first Smoothie King at the Villages at Riverwatch. “We are beyond excited about this new opportunity to serve another section of our community, especially Fort Gordon,” said Wade. The rumors about a prime spot for Trader Joe’s supermarket development in Evans— are apparently false. New Steakhouse opening outside prestigious neighborhood

A husband and wife team with significant food service operations experience is close to opening the doors of an upscale Columbia County restaurant. ABD stopped by The Commons at West Lake on Furys Ferry Road yesterday and learned that the floors and bar are installed, and the tables and chairs are in place. A restaurateur will open one last time today at her kitchen in Martinez. She was a one-woman multitasker at the helm of the café. Angie Hood from Angie’s Kitchen (pictured above) was the marketer, cook, and waitress/customer service person at her restaurant, which opened in November of 2025.
