Vendors needed for upcoming expo aimed at parents

Brandy Mitchell has found a fun, creative way for local businesses to interact with children and their parents. And your business can still sign up to participate.

Mitchell, founder, and editor of CSRA Kids, a guide for parents that lists a variety of children’s activities, created Kid Jam in 2018. The all-day event features more than 100 vendors, including food trucks, a petting zoo, face painting, and inflatables.

Sponsors include the Family YMCA of Greater Augusta and Murphy Auto Group.

“Kid Jam is our annual kid expo,” she said. “We pull all the resources and businesses in the area that offer classes and activities for kids.”

This year’s event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Riverview Park Activities Center in North Augusta. Most of the activities will take place inside the center’s five gyms, but some will be outside.

“We usually have about 3,000 people who come throughout the day,” Mitchell said.

Vendors will include both businesses and non-profit organizations that provide services for children throughout the CSRA, such as Tutor Doctor of Evans, Premier Martial Arts, Skateland of Augusta, and ABLE Kids.

“I wanted to celebrate the area and all the unique things we have here for families,” she said.

Tickets are $7 per child. For more information or to sign up as a vendor, visit csrakids.com/kid-jam or email Mitchell at info@csrakids.com.
