When Joseph and Yvette Gallachi moved to Aiken in December, they discovered there were no eateries in that area that served New York-style bagels, so the experienced entrepreneurs decided to open one of their own. When Denise Jane Racho moved from Virginia to Augusta in 2005, there were no restaurants that served the kinds of foods she grew up cooking and eating in the Philippines. Local pizzeria renovations completed in time for Masters Week

A newly remodeled Columbia County pizzeria has re-opened in time for its busiest week of the year. Mellow Mushroom, located at 4348 Washington Road in Evans, closed for renovations on Monday, Feb. 27, and re-opened on Wednesday, March 15, according to Ally Bauer, the restaurant’s area manager. People living and working in Augusta will no longer have to drive to Evans to enjoy fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and other Southern favorites. Today, Goolsby’s will celebrate the grand opening of its second location at 3122 Wrightsboro Road, across the street from Forest Hills Golf Club. Big box flooring retailer to open CSRA location

A national retailer that sells and installs various types of flooring is bringing a new location to Augusta. Floor & Décor, which has more than 200 locations nationwide, is currently building a store at 110 Mason McKnight Junior Parkway, near Northern Tool + Equipment, CarMax, and other big box retailers. Like Home Depot and Lowe’s, Floor & Décor offers a variety of flooring options, including tile, stone, laminate, and vinyl.
