Downtown eatery to reopen in July

Pineapple Ink Tavern has been closed for renovations and repairs since January, but owner, Allan Soto and his team are excited to show guests the changes they’ve made to the restaurant. Located at 1002 Broad St., the restaurant will celebrate its grand reopening on Wednesday, July 6. Pineapple Ink, which opened just before the pandemic began in 2020, serves a variety of entrees, including soups, sandwiches, salads, desserts, and drinks. Business partners transform the historic home into an antique shop, event space

Two local business partners have taken on the onerous task of turning a 150-year-old house into an antique shop. Daniel Edwards and Kevin DeLaigle (or de l’Aigle, the family name’s original French spelling) are breathing new life into the DeLaigle House located at 551 Greene St., across the street from the Augusta-Richmond County Municipal Building. The four-story, 7,300-square-foot home was built in 1873 by DeLaigle’s great-great-aunt, Mary Clark DeLaigle, the widow of a Confederate Civil War soldier. International supermarket chain to open Columbia County location

An international discount supermarket chain has announced it will open its third CSRA location, this time in Evans. When Lance Danko needs stress relief, he goes book shopping, which is why he was happy when Books-A-Million reopened in Aiken late last week. Local medical nonprofit unveils the newest office in South Augusta

Christ Community Health’s new South Augusta location is already open and busy, but the official ribbon-cutting took place on Thursday, May 26. Appliance entrepreneur to open a new store in former Earth Fare building

Dave Barrett owns appliance stores on the East and West coasts, but in early July, he plans to open a fourth store in the former Earth Fare building located at 368 Furys Ferry Road, Suite 3 in Augusta. Barrett, the owner of Dave’s Appliance Warehouse, has one store just outside of Athens and two more in Orange County, California. He sells both new and B-Stock appliances, which refer to scratch-and-dent items and canceled orders, among others he buys from major companies. Unlike other appliance stores, Barrett won’t sell used items.
