Local Japanese restaurant to expand with new Grovetown location

A popular Augusta Japanese restaurant will open a new location in Columbia County early next year. According to an employee of Miyako Sushi & Steakhouse – located at 2801 Washington Road in the Washington Walk Shopping Center, the new location is scheduled to open next to LongHorn Steakhouse on Lewiston Road in Grovetown in spring 2022. Insurance agents team up to support local nonprofit

A local Christian nonprofit that provides medical and dental services for uninsured and underserved people just received a $7,500 grant, thanks to a team of Augusta State Farm agents. Founded in 2007, Christ Community Health has two clinics in downtown Augusta located at 1226 D’Antignac St. and 127 Telfair St. The agents who presented the check on Thursday, Oct. 7 were Eddie Bussey, Matt Willis, Mike Ingham, and BJ Jordan. A new restaurant in North Augusta offers its customers a healthier alternative to the traditional fast-food hamburger. Dawg! That’s Vegan – located at 1696 Knox Avenue near Georgia Avenue, had its soft opening on Thursday, Sept. 30. After many years of working 12-hour days running a busy family auto repair shop, Chuck Smith knew it was time for a change. A local Mexican restaurant wants to show appreciation for law enforcement personnel. Taqueria El Rey, which has locations in both Martinez and Grovetown, has a special offer for all first responders.
