A kid-friendly ice cream shop is out and an adult-oriented restaurant is in on 3830 Washington Road in the West Town Shopping Center. Munchie’s Snacks will replace Frosty Rolls, next to a long-time tenant, Little Dutch Bakery. Ramiro Galvan also owns Taqueria El Rey, a popular Mexican restaurant in the same shopping center. ABD received word from Jordan Trotter Commercial Real Estate about the sale of the Sunshine Bakery location at 1209 Broad Street in Augusta. Sunshine Bakery is an Augusta icon, opened in 1946. Chicken Salad Chick just made a sweet acquisition. Chicken Salad Chick bought Atlanta-based dessert bakery Piece of Cake for an undisclosed price. All 245 Chicken Salad Chick restaurants will be serving Piece of Cake baked goods including the three Augusta locations.
