A national baseball and softball training company is launching a new franchise in Evans (see photo above story). D-BAT, which is expected to open by the end of February, will be located at 705 North Belair Road near Roots Produce. An 18-hole public golf course that’s been closed since August will soon reopen in the small town of Bamberg. Bamberg Golf & Sports Club (see photo above), located at 128 Paw Paw Road, officially closed on Saturday, Aug. 14. Built in 1981, the 135-acre course was developed by renowned architect, Russell Breeden. Bamberg Golf, which was previously called the Paw Paw Country Club, has been sold to a new owner according to Meybohm Commercial Properties. The course will also have a new name: River Burch Golf Club.
