Mema Had One has been an Augusta landmark for more than a decade, but the antique shop will soon move to a new location. The shop’s current location at 2328 Washington Road will close on Wednesday, Aug. 31, and reopen at 135 Davis Road near Inner Bean Café. The Augusta National Golf Club has found a new purpose for a longtime fast-food restaurant. Local Wendy’s franchisee, Mike Iezzi leased the location at 2738 Washington Road next to Olive Garden from a company called Meadows Inc. from 2007 until a few years ago, when Augusta National purchased the property. Iezzi said he’s been paying the golf club monthly rent to operate the busy franchise location. According to Golf Magazine, the restaurant property was purchased for $3.4 Million by AGNC. Robert Steele runs a business that provides fun, safe entertainment for children, teens, and families that is seeking a new home. Steele owns Level Up Game Center, an arcade that recently announced it’s moving from a 3,700-square-foot building located at 3837 Martinez Blvd., Suite 1 in Martinez to a 7,000-square-foot building attached to the Thomson Family YMCA. The Martinez location closed its door over the weekend. But he said those plans have been put on hold because the Y wanted his business to pay the cost of renovating the building.
