University Hospital set to become Piedmont Healthcare

In less than a week, University Hospital will become Piedmont Healthcare and the literal signs of that were obvious this week. Sign crews were busy placing the finishing touches on the large Piedmont logo atop the roof at the front of the hospital on Thursday and changing the signage at the hospital entrance as well. Bank with local branches merges with another bank

A bank with multiple branches throughout the CSRA is merging with another bank. Cadence Bank, which has locations on Wrightsboro Road, Wheeler Road, and Walton Way, as well as East Hill Street in Thomson, merged with BancorpSouth on Friday, Oct. 29. The new bank will carry the Cadence name. Founded in Mississippi in 1876, Bancorp has 420 branches throughout the U.S., including Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, and Tennessee, as well as Texas and Illinois. Johnson Motor Company “cashed out” of its franchise deal with Cadillac

ABD has learned Johnson Motor Company of Georgia received a settlement from the Cadillac corporation to end its’ franchise agreement in late July while still in effect. Johnson was located at 1122 Walton Way in downtown Augusta and closed after nearly 86 years in the automotive sales and service business.
