Family tragedy leads to new healthy living business

Pediatric urgent care clinic to replace longtime furniture business

After more than 20 years in business, The Wicker Barn officially closed its doors on Friday, Dec. 31. But the building will soon be repurposed for a pediatric urgent care business. Wicker Barn, which was located at 3910 Washington Road in Martinez, sold a variety of indoor and outdoor wicker furniture. In Augusta’s River Region, you don’t have to drive far to find a Diablo’s Southwest Grill. Diablo’s opened a new location at 3597 Peach Orchard Road on the corner of Tobacco Road, near Sparkle Express Car Wash, on Monday, Feb. 7 (see photo above story). New Starbucks location to open on Walton Way

A coffee giant will open another store between Augusta University’s Summerville Campus and Augusta’s medical district, according to a news release from Jordan Trotter Commercial Real Estate. Starbucks, which already has 16 locations throughout the CSRA, plans to build a new one at the corner of Walton Way and Chafee Avenue (see photo above story). Local company wants to save your roof

A local home improvement company wants to help you avoid the cost of a roof replacement. Roof Savers Georgia LLC, which is owned by Russell Beckum, Allen Childs, and Larry Hogue, officially opened for business on Nov. 13, 2021.
