Downtown businesses to participate in golf-themed retail crawl

Many people think downtown businesses are really busy during Masters Week, but that’s not the case, according to Jennifer Tinsley. Tinsley owns FIELD Botanicals located on 12th Street, one of 13 downtown businesses participating in a first-ever golf-themed shopping crawl next week called The 19th Hole. Businesses participating in the week-long event include Urban K9, Flowers on Broad, The Book Tavern, and Grantski Records. Local farm owners to host opening day event next weekend

Many organizations offer Easter egg hunts, but next weekend, owners of a local farm will host a major event with 2,000 eggs. Laura Russo and her husband, Jarett Acosta own the 70-acre Boondock Farms located at 755 Foreman St. in Jackson. The Easter egg hunt will be part of its Opening Day Vendor Festival on Saturday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will also include live music, local vendors, and food provided by Que at the Shop Bar BQ located on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard

Eat a sub and make a difference!

Jersey Mike’s sandwich locations are wrapping up their 13th Annual Month of Giving fundraising campaign with the traditional Day of Giving today. All this month, patrons have been encouraged to make donations through the Jersey Mike’s mobile app or by stopping in a location to buy a sub. It culminates with this year’s Day of Giving today when 100% of sales in Jersey Mike’s nearly 2,500 locations in the United States go to help local charities. Local restaurant owners to open second CSRA location

People living and working in Augusta will no longer have to drive to Evans to enjoy fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and other Southern favorites. Today, Goolsby’s will celebrate the grand opening of its second location at 3122 Wrightsboro Road, across the street from Forest Hills Golf Club. The restaurant’s co-owner, Wilkes Goolsby, said, unlike other businesses, they won’t give away free items today. “I anticipate us being pretty busy, so we’re not going to do anything extra,” Goolsby said. Regional barbecue chain plans to build CSRA location

The CSRA may soon be home to a new barbecue restaurant, thanks to a regional chain that wants to build a location on the site of the former Romano’s Macaroni Grill in west Augusta. Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q has submitted site plans to the City of Augusta. ABD contacted the Augusta Planning Commission regarding those plans. “Their site plans are still under review,” an employee for the Commission said. CSRA restaurateurs to open second location

Greg and Angie Pierce have owned a popular Aiken eatery for almost a year, but in the next few months, the couple plans to open a second location in North Augusta. In May, the Pierces, who own The Feed Sack located at 1593 Whiskey Road, plan to launch their second location at 1069 Edgefield Road, Suites 103 and 105.
