A new retail center in west Augusta will allow local residents the opportunity to grab lunch, get a haircut and complete an intense workout, although not necessarily in that order. A personal tragedy led Tonya Thomas to begin promoting healthy living and teaching others to do the same. A little over a week ago, she opened the doors to her business, Meme’s All Natural. “I had been planning for two years to open my business and I found the right place in New Ellenton. A coffee giant will open another store between Augusta University’s Summerville Campus and Augusta’s medical district, according to a news release from Jordan Trotter Commercial Real Estate. Starbucks, which already has 16 locations throughout the CSRA, plans to build a new one at the corner of Walton Way and Chafee Avenue (see photo above story). Other locations include Wrightsboro Road in Augusta, William Few Parkway in Evans, and Knox Avenue in North Augusta.
